Summer! And this week is Young Adult Week on book-a-holic!

Wow, it has been 2 months since I last posted. Spring term was a bit stressful. However, it is now officially summer! I am free to do what i want and read what I want. I thought this day would never come. I have been reading, and I have a lot of books to talk about. School has been tough lately, so I have been mostly reading young adult books. I have found some good ones! So I am officially making this week Young Adult Week on my blog.

To start with today, I want to talk about Catching Fire, the second book in Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games series.

Catching Fire-Suzanne Collins

Scholastic, 2009. Pages:391

I borrowed this book from my local library.

I posted about The Hunger Games a couple of months ago, and that is how long I had to wait to get this book from the library. I loved The Hunger Games and Catching Fire completely lived up to my expectations. If you haven't read The Hunger Games, go and get it right now! Go! And don't read further, because this will have spoilers.

Catching Fire starts with Katniss and Peeta going on the Victory Tour, which is a tour that the victor of the Hunger Games does a few months after they win. Since Katniss and Peeta outsmarted the Hunger Games, they are under immense pressure to prove to the other districts that they are crazy in love. However, rebellion is in the air. And then! Crazy twist that I did not see coming! And of course crazy tension between both Katniss and Peeta and Katniss and Gale.

I love this series. I was not expecting these books to be written as well as they are, but Collins is really talented. And Katniss is such a strong character. You can't help but root for her. It is killing me to wait for the third book Mockingjay, which comes out in August (I have already preordered it). If you have not experienced Suzanne Collins yet, check her out! You will thank me later.
